The upper Garda Trentino occupies the northern part of Lake Garda and the southern part of Trentino. Starting from the northern lake shores, it stretches north between the Valle del Chiese, Valle dell’Adige, Valle di Cavedine and Valle di Ledro. The Garda Trentino, also called “Basso Sarca” or “Basso Trentino” or even “Alto Garda”, is situated in Italy’s far north, in the Trentino Alto Adige region, and more precisely in the Trento province. The province is divided into 10 districts and Trento (car plate TN) is the provincial capital.
The Alto Garda Trentino is located in the C9 district which includes the territories of six municipalities: ARCO, DRENA, DRO, NAGO-TORBOLE, RIVA DEL GARDA, TENNO.The whole district, especially Nago-Torbole, is well exposed to the sun and the Alpine barrier all around protects the area from the cold northerly winds, favouring instead the influence from Lake Garda, with a typically Mediterranean climate characterized by mild winters.
